Dr. Heather Hammonds, her husband, Dr. Mark Hammonds, and their two children moved to the Twin Lakes area in 2015. Prior to moving to Mountain Home, she was employed by Baylor Scott and White Orthopedics as a sports and non-operative musculoskeletal medicine specialist treating and managing all musculoskeletal concerns from acute to chronic in patients of all ages.

Dr. Hammonds has extensive training in diagnostic musculoskeletal/ sports ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections, regenerative injection therapies (platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and prolotherapy), shockwave therapy (radial and focused), myofascial work, percutaneous needle tenotomy (PNT), nerve blocks and hydrodissection, trigger point injections, dry needling, casting/splinting and non-surgical fracture management, joint and soft tissue injections and aspirations, sports-concussion management, EKG interpretation in athletes and common medical concerns of the athlete. 

Dr. Hammonds has worked with athletes of all ages and levels including NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, Olympian, Elite and Professional. She has been serving as a coverage team physician for the University of Texas Athletics Department since 2015 and is a Team Physician for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee.

Outside of work, Dr. Hammonds can often be found running on the trails preparing for her next ultra-adventure or living life to its fullest with her outdoor enthusiast family. Dr Hammonds is passionate about sharing her love of sports and helping others to stay active and improve their quality of life.
